Dau of The Mad Star [New Draft][DOMS ACT:4 SONG: TBD]

[INTRO — low bowed brass, toy-piano pulses in warped 7/8; violet-gold eclipse lighting] [STAGE: Sheogorath stands revealed as the False Sotha-Sil mask crumbles. Vivec and Masiashi lie inert at stage right. Ashimasi confronts him center stage.] [SHEOGORATH — male baritone-tenor, manic, lilting] “It seems the mask has slipped at last. Well struck, ash-child. You broke the clock I wore for laughs.” [MUSIC SWELLS — glitch-accordion + twisted marimba] [VERSE 1 — SHEOGORATH (swaggering, almost affectionate)] “I am the Mad Star— the one who falls when fate grows bored. And long ago, above Vivec’s gilded harbor, I hurled a little moonlet down— Baar-Dau, the Bearer of Dau— a stone stuffed full with knowledge mortals were never meant to hoard. Not truth— but impact. Not wisdom— but the shatter that follows.” [STAGE — shadow-play reenacts Baar-Dau hovering over Vivec City] [VERSE 2 — SHEOGORATH (leaning in, whisper-bright)] “Oh, Ashimasi… I brushed your people first with Bear-Dau’s kiss. The Hollow Guar Year— that sweet unraveling— when hunger gnawed the tribe to bone and bliss. Order cracked as madness. Madness wore the mask of law. Your elders wrote new ledgers in panic, stacking shame tall as Red Mountain’s jaw. I only nudged. A star needn’t fall to cut— a shadow of its fall is enough.” [CHORUS — SHEOGORATH (explosive, triumphant)] “I am the Mad Star! I bring the Bear-Dau down, I split the skies, I twist your ground! But Dau—oh, Dau— that’s not my name. Dau is the knowing that burns through the frame! I fall, I shatter, I scatter the plot— and mortals inherit the truth I do not!” [STAGE — Violet eclipse forms behind him; shimmering dust falls like broken runes.] [VERSE 3 — SHEOGORATH (cryptic, amused)] “I found you in dreaming— your ancestors’ grief still wet upon your brow. A little black sun rose in your sleep, cutting a path through its own shadow— a gate of copper, a road of ruin. Not Dau—not yet— just a promise that something would someday fall through you.” [INTERLUDE — [toy piano glissando; Elytra chorus buzzes in uneasy harmonics]] [VERSE 4 — SHEOGORATH (gleeful)] “And your Silver-Haired Guar— mouths of many voices, gentle terror, prophet-beast— I sent that creature’s riddle-song to taste whether your mind could bend without breaking, whether your fear could bloom into something interesting. You passed. You trembled, but you answered.” [VERSE 5 — SHEOGORATH (lower, serpent-soft)] “And your ancestors… those masks you wore so dutifully. I tugged one thread and let your brother’s shadow settle inside your ribs. Mantling is a delicate thing— especially when the dead have something left to say. So Masiashi came forth, a twin-self of dew and sorrow, half yours, half mine. Even I cannot tell which half sings louder.” [CHORUS — SHEOGORATH (grand, theatrical, brass shattering into glitched choral crescendos)] “I am the Mad Star! The bearer of Bear-Dau, the spoiler of order, the breaker of vow! But Dau—ahah!— that dreadful gleam that rips through meaning like a waking dream— that fire in the wound, that truth in the fall… Dau is the knowledge I cannot hold at all!” bawdy-Almalexia, glitching-False-Sotha-Sil, vain-pantomime-Vehk. They bow grotesquely and dissolve into ash.]** [VERSE 6 — SHEOGORATH (quickening, voice cracking with joy and unease)] “I made your Tribunal new— a little comedy of errors, a pageant of gods who forgot what being gods once meant. Vivec, my favorite contradiction— stuffed with Bear-Dau’s aftertaste, folded into Muatra like a bad joke. Sotha-Sil, wound tight with order until he glitched at the seams. Ayem—ah, Ayem— too whole to break cleanly, so I mocked her instead. For you, Ashimasi. This whole stage was set for you.” [VERSE 7 — SHEOGORATH (voice trembles on the edge of sincerity)] “But here’s the cruelest riddle— the one that startles even me: By bringing you to this ruin, by letting Bear-Dau whisper through your life, by peeling fate from your spine and feeding you your own voice [BRIDGE — SHEOGORATH (spoken-sung, fractured echo layers)] I may have taught you Dau... “Did I birth the fall that frees you? Did I guide the truth that breaks you? Did I hand you fate to shake me? Did I craft the one who wakes me? What a peril… What a thrill… What a joke I cannot outplay. [FINAL CHORUS — SHEOGORATH (manic triumph shading into fear clear vocal clarity)] “I am the Mad Star! But you— you carry Dau now. Mask falls, you rise, As loose ald disguise, hide-truth in your eyes rewrites my why. unthreads from my art… you, little ash-child, dear in my heart— haps you’ll be the one yet, Bears Dau onto me!?” [OUTRO — toy piano collapses into descending half-steps]; [storm of brass; Muatra vibrates with awakening resonance.]
