[Verse 1] There once was a pirate named Lazy Lou, Who spotted a mermaid in waters blue. He stopped his work and stared all day, Till Davy Jones took him away. The crew did shout, but he didn’t hear, Now he’s lost to the depths, we fear. [Chorus] So work ye hard, don’t be a fool, Or join Davy Jones in his ghastly school. The mermaids' song might sound so sweet, But it’s a trap, don’t leave your fleet. [Verse 2] Lou heard her sing with a voice so fair, Forgot his duties, he didn’t care. The sails went slack, the deck grew rough, Jones' ghostly crew soon had enough. With eyes so bright and tail so green, He chased a dream that should’ve never been. [Chorus] So work ye hard, don’t be a fool, Or join Davy Jones in his ghastly school. The mermaids' song might sound so sweet, But it’s a trap, don’t leave your fleet. [Verse 3] The mermaid's tail flashed in the sun, While Lazy Lou thought it was fun. But from the depths, a hand did rise, To drag him down, with hollow eyes. The crew did scream, their faces pale, As Lou was taken by the wretched tale. [Chorus] So work ye hard, don’t be a fool, Or join Davy Jones in his ghastly school. The mermaids' song might sound so sweet, But it’s a trap, don’t leave your fleet. [Verse 4] With every glance and idle sigh, Lou didn’t see the storm clouds nigh. The ship was tossed, the crew did shout, But Lazy Lou, he zoned right out. When lightning struck and winds did wail, He vanished in the stormy gale. [Chorus] So work ye hard, don’t be a fool, Or join Davy Jones in his ghastly school. The mermaids' song might sound so sweet, But it’s a trap, don’t leave your fleet. [Verse 5] When Davy Jones did claim his prize, Lou's empty eyes told no lies. Beware the lure of the siren's call, Or you too might stumble and fall. In Jones' crew, Lou now roams, A ghostly pirate far from home. [Chorus] So work ye hard, don’t be a fool, Or join Davy Jones in his ghastly school. The mermaids' song might sound so sweet, But it’s a trap, don’t leave your fleet. [Verse 6] Now every pirate knows the tale, Of Lazy Lou and how he failed. So heed this warning, stay alert, Or face the fate that Lou incurred. Remember Lou and his foolish dream, And stay away from the mermaid's gleam. [Chorus] So work ye hard, don’t be a fool, Or join Davy Jones in his ghastly school. The mermaids' song might sound so sweet, But it’s a trap, don’t leave your fleet. [Ending] So if ye see a mermaid’s gleam, Remember Lou and his foolish dream. Stay on course, keep your eyes ahead, Or join the ranks of the watery dead. [Chorus] So work ye hard, don’t be a fool, Or join Davy Jones in his ghastly school. The mermaids' song might sound so sweet, But it’s a trap, don’t leave your fleet. [Outro] So if ye see a mermaid’s gleam, Remember Lou and his foolish dream. Stay on course, keep your eyes ahead, Or join the ranks of the watery dead. (Short Instrumental) (End of song)
