Story written by: Ayan Goswami Ayo, the grace of God I let the moment be and leave the rest to Krishna As we begin this transcendental adventure See, every human body's really just a rented house The landlord of mine was born in the house of Nanda One day, my landlord saw me misbehaving and said, "Don't make me come down there and start handing out the danda Boy, I'll pull up on your little city in a second If you keep forgetting that I invented this jungle" And then he showed me everything that I was yet to see He made me walk across the water, put my head in seas He told me, "Boy, you're really nothing but a melody And all your pride, it just don't mean a thing to me" I said, "Baba, I know you got it figured out But I just can't ignore the situation in my house And I ain't never doubt that you got a master plan But I'm a man, and in my hands, I got a half a gram" He told me, "Boy, I see your trouble and your pain And your struggle, it's a shame, but, son, it really ain't I know you got a girl, and I know she got a thing And it's the same, but it ain't, so let me explain You and your girl, y'all got different types of love Your love is to be shown, and hers is to be sung You been there before, you see, the love that is to come Is the same as the love that you came from" I told him, "Krishna, now I'm hearing what you're saying But if I'm hearing right, then the girl is here to stay If she stays, that means we can't be all alone We in her city, so it's really her home" He told me, "Boy, you sound crazy It's the home of you, me, all the devas, and the babies And it's been that way since before you were a baby And it always will be, even after you and your lady" And now, I'm seeing that this world was meant for me 'Cause there ain't no limit to the things that I could be So I get down on my knees, bow my head, and I chant Hare Krishna, Hare Rama, Hare Hari [Chorus] Yeah, Hare Krishna Ayo, it's supreme Krishna Hare Krishna Hare Rama, Hare Hari Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Ayo, it's supreme Krishna Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Hare Rama, Hare Hari Hare Krishna [Verse] I let the moment breathe, leave the rest to Krishna, Stepping through the veil on a transcendental mission. This human body's fragile, just a temporary lease, The Landlord is the cowherd who brings the inner peace. But He caught me drifting off, lost in the illusion, Said, "Don't make Me bring the danda to break your confusion. I'll shake your little city, bring the ego to the dirt, You forgot who grew the jungle from the center of the earth." He pulled the curtain back, showed me galaxies unseen, Held my head beneath the water, washed the spirit clean. He whispered, "You're a single note inside a cosmic song, Your pride is just a shadow where eternity belongs." I answered, "Govinda, I know You hold the master plan, But I'm trapped inside this matrix, struggling as a man. I can't ignore the hunger or the demons in my house, Holding poison in my palm, trying to shut the shadows out." He said, "I see the struggle, the venom in your veins, The heavy chains of karma, the pleasure and the pain. You're tangled in a mortal love, blinded by the spark, But the light you're searching for was inside you in the dark. Her love is spoken loud, yours is hidden in a song, But the source of all devotion is where you both belong." I argued, "If she stays, we're bound to earthly stone, We're living in her city, so it's really her home." He laughed and shook the cosmos, "You're speaking like the blind, This universe is Mine, leave the boundaries behind. It's the home of every Deva, every spirit, every soul, Before your birth and after death, I have always been the whole." The scales fell from my eyes, the infinite revealed, No limits on the spirit when the mortal wounds are healed. I drop down to the earth, let the ego fall apart, And chant the holy names from the bottom of my heart. [Chorus] Hare Krishna, surrender to the Supreme Divine, Hare Rama, stepping out of space and time. Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, let the ego fall, Hare Rama, Hare Hari, answering the call. Hare Krishna, He's the rhythm in the melody, Hare Krishna, breaking chains to set us free. Hare Rama, Hare Hari, the ultimate truth, Hare Krishna, forever in my spirit's roots.
