The Book of Piahhohmeht Ahkehkt
[NARRATOR — SPOKEN VOICE ONLY] [DO NOT SING] Today we come to a quieter but beautiful story in the Nemenhah Sacred Records... The Book of Piahhohmeht Ahkehkt. Piahhohmeht was the son of Tsihohnayah Ahkehkthihm and the grandson of Mohrhohnahyah. He tells us that his grandfather taught him the wisdom of the Peacemaker. His father taught him the sciences of the Nemenhah, and his mother taught him at her feet. Then, when Piahhohmeht was only thirteen years old, he dreamed that he sat in the presence of the Peacemaker. The Peacemaker called him by name and commissioned him to become His servant. Piahhohmeht went to his grandfather Mohrhohnahyah, who laid hands upon him and ordained him to the office of Pehli. Years later, Piahhohmeht married Ayspohwyays, and with other young families they crossed the mountains and established a new community called Mehnehwiht. And notice their priorities. Before their own houses were finished, they completed their sacred place and worshiped the Peacemaker. Then came one of the most touching stories in the book. Their young son Wiiskiht accidentally ate a poisonous plant and fell into a deep sleep. The entire village gathered around him. They prayed. They laid hands upon him. His mother used her healing knowledge, fasted, prayed, sang over him, and cared for him faithfully. After seven days... Wiiskiht recovered. His name came to mean: “He goes with Him.” As Wiiskiht grew, he received spiritual experiences, but he learned an important principle. Even revelation should be tested and confirmed by the Haymehnay. The people of Mehnehwiht built their lives around these same principles. They worked. They healed. They taught their children. They served their neighbors. They shared what they had. And Piahhohmeht records something remarkable. There were no poor among them. No hunger. No great want. And during his lifetime, no wars among the Nemenhah. This little book shows us Zion in ordinary life. Not simply visions and miracles... but families loving one another, neighbors serving one another, children learning the Way, and people placing the Peacemaker at the center of everything. Piahhohmeht asks what could possibly be more desirable than this: To walk continually in the presence of the Peacemaker. [MUSIC GENTLY BUILDS] [BEGIN SINGING — VERY SHORT] Walk with Him... Day by day... Teach our hearts... Thy peaceful Way... Faith and love... Guide us home... Peacemaker... We are Thine. [END]
