[Verse 1] Spring rolls in, we already know Where we’re headed, don’t need the road Same back table, same old spot We’ve been doing this a long damn time Thirty-six years, yeah we show up right First swirl hits in that fading light Tequila burns, that sugar spin And just like that we’re back again [Pre-Chorus] We say “one drink” every single year Then we look at each other like “not a chance in here” [Chorus] It’s the first swirl of the year, here we go again Same two girls, just a little more seasoned Two drinks in, yeah we’re doing fine Three drinks later we’re out of our minds Laughing too loud, don’t care who hears We’ve been raising hell for forty years Every spring when the weather feels right We’re three swirls deep and gone all night [Verse 2] We’ve seen some things we won’t repeat Talk a little loud, fall out our seats You start laughing, I’m right behind Don’t even know what crossed our minds Somewhere between that second and third We’re crying laughing, slurring our words Said “this is it” about ten times Ain’t been true since ’89 [Pre-Chorus] We say “we’re done” but we both know We’ve been lying since forever ago [Chorus] It’s the first swirl of the year, here we go again Same two girls, just a little more seasoned Two drinks in, yeah we’re doing fine Three drinks later we’re out of our minds Laughing too loud, don’t care who hears We’ve been raising hell for forty years Every spring when the weather feels right We’re three swirls deep and gone all night [Bridge] Not about the drink, not about the bar It’s showing up just like we are Year by year, no matter what Same two girls, same kind of trouble [Final Chorus] Yeah it’s the first swirl of the year, never gets old Same story laughing like we’ve been told Two drinks in, yeah we’re feeling great Three drinks later we can’t walk straight Laughing like kids, nothing’s changed Still a little wild, just rearranged Every spring when the sun drops right We’re three swirls deep and owning the night
