Looking up at endless sky A billion stars I'll never reach Makes me question where and why But even all that distance starts to teach They say we're made of stardust too Still working out the things that I desire Maybe what I'm searching through Is closer than the hopes I set higher Under shimmering skies (shimmering skies) That's where I realize (I realize) We're all connected, you and I Under shimmering skies Paths set miles apart Still joined by soul and thought Tiny things to stars we are Together we move forward as we ought When two stars twinkle in the night Do the planets wonder why? Two souls unsure of what feels right Bound by fate beneath the sky Will the cosmic winds reshape the way they flow While they shimmer through the dark? Can those souls harmonize below Or find their way and leave their mark? Under shimmering skies (shimmering skies) That's where I realize (I realize) We're all connected, you and I Under shimmering skies Every element inside me once burned bright In some distant sun before it died in the night The atoms in my hand, the air I breathe All forged in ways I can't even conceive So maybe being small is missing the point Different paths still meeting at this joint We're part of everything that ever was Connected not by faith but just because Under shimmering skies (shimmering skies) That's where I realize (I realize) We're all connected, you and I Under shimmering skies Under shimmering skies (shimmering skies) Now I finally realize (I realize) There's more than what meets the eye Under shimmering skies
