[Intro - Desert Highway Wind FX, Passing Truck Sound, Distorted Slide Guitar, Spoken Monologue] *(Spoken - thick Aussie accent, cold & sinister)* "Stuart Highway, July 2001. Barrow Creek. A campervan pulled over on a pitch-black stretch of desert road. Bradley John Murdoch stepped out of the shadows... And the Outback became a crime scene." [Verse 1 - Industrial Rock Groove, Heavy Drums, Distorted Bass] Driving down the highway underneath the desert stars, Flashing his lights to stop the tourist cars. Peter and Joanne pulling over to the side, Expecting friendly help on their long Outback ride. A shot in the dark, Peter falls to the ground, Not a single witness for miles around. Binding up Joanne in the back of the truck, Fighting for her life on a streak of pure luck. Slipped into the bushes while the murderer turned, Hiding in the scrub while the desert heat burned. Hours in the dark while he searched with a light, Surviving the most terrifying Outback night. [Pre-Chorus - Swelling Distorted Guitars & Scratches] *(Scratch: "Barrow Creek... desert road... Joanne escaped!")* From the dirt highway to the national search, Leaving the killer on a high-stakes perch! [Chorus - Heavy Industrial Rock-Hiphop Blast, Wall of Guitars, Barking Vocals] **BRADLEY JOHN MURDOCH ON THE DESERT RUN!** A cold-blooded hitter under the Outback sun! From the Stuart Highway to the courtroom floor, Locking up the driver for evermore! Yeah, **THE BARROW CREEK SHADOW IN THE NIGHT!** *(Scratch: "Falconio case... body hidden... lifetime lease...")* Keeping his secrets while the search won't cease! [Verse 2 - Fast Heavy Delivery, Metallic Snares, Driving Synth Bass] Fled from the territory, hiding his track, Trafficking the goods with the law on his back. Two thousand and five, DNA matched the thread, Confirming every word that Joanne had said. Convicted in court, handed lifetime inside, With nowhere left in the country to hide. Never told the family where the body was laid, The ultimate price that the highway killer paid. [Bridge - Stripped Back Bass, Wind Sound FX, Engine Idling] *(Spoken - quiet, icy, deadpan)* "Peter Falconio's body was never found. Murdoch remains in Darwin Correctional Centre. Refusing to speak." [Chorus - Heavy Industrial Rock-Hiphop Blast, Wall of Guitars, Barking Vocals] **BRADLEY JOHN MURDOCH ON THE DESERT RUN!** A cold-blooded hitter under the Outback sun! [Outro - Guitars Fade, Desert Wind Howling, Abrupt Tape-Stop Finish] *(Spoken - calm, cold, deadpan)* "Life imprisonment. Case closed." *(Subtle vinyl scratch, sudden abrupt tape-stop finish)*
