[Verse 1] Got a neighbor with a busted fence So I showed up with food and a wrench We fixed boards Swapped old stories in the yard He said "Son You came to mend my gate But somehow you helped my heavy heart feel straight" Funny how a kindness comes back twice as large [Chorus] Love grows when you give it away (hey!) Like seeds in the ground on a summer day You are loved More than you know It pours in waves everywhere you go So pass it around like treats ’round the fire Fill up a hand Watch it climb higher Love grows when you give it away Love grows when you give it away (oh yeah) [Verse 2] I had pockets full of worn-out prayers Till I started carrying someone else’s cares Found my own load lighter every mile Like a lantern on a midnight road What I lit for you made my own path glow Your grateful grin turned shadows into light [Chorus] Love grows when you give it away (hey!) Like seeds in the ground on a summer day You are loved More than you know It pours in waves everywhere you go So pass it around like treats ’round the fire Fill up a hand Watch it climb higher Love grows when you give it away Love grows when you give it away [Bridge] It’s like a well that’s running over Cup by cup It floods the clover Every heart a little open gate (hey!) Help a friend Help a stranger Watch your own heart grow much braver You’re the proof that grace returns in spades [Chorus] Love grows when you give it away (hey!) Like seeds in the ground on a summer day You are loved More than you know It pours in waves everywhere you go So pass it around like treats ’round the fire Fill up a hand Watch it climb higher Love grows when you give it away Love grows when you give it away (hey! hey!)
