Where The Cold Wind Blows 👑

V5.5

A woman stands by the jagged shore, Her love sailed off through the tempest’s roar, The waves they whisper a cruel refrain, “Ye’ll wait forever, he’s lost to the main.” The gulls cry out in a mournful wail, The horizon’s empty, the skies grow pale, His ship was strong, but the fates were blind, A shadow took him, left her behind. The sea devours, a thief in the night, His soul entwined with the endless fight, No sail returns, no ember glows, Her heart lies buried where the cold tide flows. The lantern swings in the midnight gale, Her shawl grows thin, hope turns frail, The tides bring naught but weed and bone, His voice now echoes in undertone. The cliffs bear witness, the years drag slow, Heart’s a wreck where the cold winds blow, The siren laughs through the foam and spray, “She waits in vain ‘til her dying day.” The sea devours, a thief in the night, His soul entwined with the endless fight, No sail returns, no ember glows, Her heart lies buried where the cold tide flows. Sing ye soft by the water’s brim, A shanty carved for her love so grim, Ghost still stands where the breakers moan, A widow bound to the sea alone.
