DANCE UNTIL THE LIGHTS GO OUT [INTRO – DARK CLUB / 3:47 AM] [PA VOICE] Club Freestyle is now closed. Please proceed toward the exit. [STATIC] Is anybody still in here? [CELESTIUM – icy atmospheric keys] [LEAFLIT – metallic electronic percussion] [BANANAJUJU – low electro toms] [EMBER – CRIMSON THORN] [KIRSCHE – two-tier synth] [POWDUR – bass + vocoder] Don't... turn... around... [DJ HEARTBREAK 831 – scratch / fader cut] [CHACHA – whisper] Too late. [VERSE 1 – CHACHA] Midnight disappeared a few hours ago Still the neon says there's nowhere else to go Mirror ball is turning over empty seats But I hear a hundred bodies moving with the beat Every little shadow stretches down the wall Every time I stop, I hear somebody call I reach for the door, feel the cold outside Then the speakers wake and pull me back inside [PRE-CHORUS 1] [LEAFLIT adds syncopated percussion] [BANANAJUJU builds electro toms] [CHACHA] Something in the darkness says "Don't you leave just yet" [POWDUR – harmony] Don't leave... Don't leave... [CHACHA] Every time I kill the sound— [DJ CUT – SILENCE] [WHISPER] It starts again. [CHORUS 1 – FULL BAND] [ALL] DANCE UNTIL THE LIGHTS GO OUT! [CHACHA] Turn it up and drown the voices out Keep moving when the room goes dark Feel that rhythm pounding through your heart [ALL] DANCE UNTIL THE LIGHTS GO OUT! [CHACHA] Don't ask what tonight is all about When the final neon flickers down [POWDUR – HIGH HARMONY] Don't stop now... [CHACHA + ALL] Keep on dancing! DANCE UNTIL THE LIGHTS GO OUT! [POST-CHORUS] [KIRSCHE – cold synth answer] [EMBER – bass answer] [POWDUR – vocoder] Lights... go... out... [CHACHA – whisper] Don't stop. [VERSE 2 – CHACHA] Now the clock still reads three forty-seven Every time I blink, it starts again Footsteps racing somewhere down the hall Security screens show nobody there at all Someone laughing underneath the track Someone breathing when I turn my back Pull the fader—everything goes dead [SILENCE] [UNKNOWN VOICE – close] Play it again. [PRE-CHORUS 2] [CELESTIUM – rising haunted chords] [CHACHA] Something in the speakers knows Every place I've been [POWDUR] It knows... [CHACHA] Every exit turns to black The second I step in [BANANAJUJU – tom build] [CHACHA] Tell me why the doors are locked— [WHISPER CHOIR] The night's not finished yet. [CHORUS 2 – FULL BAND] [ALL] DANCE UNTIL THE LIGHTS GO OUT! [CHACHA] Turn it up and drown the voices out Keep moving when the room goes dark Feel that rhythm pounding through your heart [ALL] DANCE UNTIL THE LIGHTS GO OUT! [DJ HEARTBREAK 831 – scratch cuts] "Dance..." "Lights..." "Out..." [DJ HARD STOP] [PA VOICE] There is nobody on the dance floor. [SILENCE] [CHACHA – close whisper] Then who's dancing behind me? [BRIDGE – BAND REBUILDS] [CELESTIUM → LEAFLIT → BANANAJUJU → EMBER → KIRSCHE → POWDUR → DJ] [CHACHA] I see their shadows on the wall But there's nobody there at all I hear them begging for one more song [POWDUR] One more song... [CHACHA] But everybody's been gone... All... Night... Long. [FINAL BUILD] [Heartbeat accelerates.] [WHISPERS – circling] Don't turn around... Don't turn around... Don't turn around... [CHACHA – rising] I said— DON'T TURN AROUND! [BANANAJUJU – DRUM FILL] [LEAFLIT – PERCUSSION FLURRY] [DJ – BACKSPIN] [FULL BAND EXPLODES] [FINAL CHORUS – MAXIMUM ENERGY] [ALL] DANCE UNTIL THE LIGHTS GO OUT!
