(Verse 1) Mom and Dad said "Go to bed," turned out the hall light But I had a plan that I was hatchin’ tonight I crawled downstairs in my PJs, quiet as a mouse The only one awake in the whole entire house We set the table ready, everything lookin' grand We left the cookies and the carrots for the reindeers and a glass of milk too Everything was waiting for the crew (Chorus) I pulled the blanket over me and squeezed in real tight I waited up all night and I hid between the couch cushions for Santa to come that night My eyes were getting heavy, fighting off the sleep Promised myself a promise that I intended to keep Yeah, it was a special Christmas Believe me, it’s true I stayed up till 2! (Verse 2) The clock was ticking loudly, the shadows moving slow Then I saw a sparkle, a red and fuzzy glow He stepped out of the fireplace, shaking off the snow And old man... I never had that experience Seeing him right there, living proof of the mysterious And the magic in the room? That was so dang bright Like a star had fallen right inside the night (Bridge) He took a bite of cookie (Crunch!) He drank the milk right up (Gulp!) He winked at the sofa, like he knew I was stuck My heart was beating fast, like a drum inside my chest I saw the big guy, I passed the test! (Guitar Solo) (Fun, bouncy, and energetic) (Chorus) I waited up all night and I hid between the couch cushions for Santa to come that night My eyes were getting heavy, fighting off the sleep Promised myself a promise that I intended to keep Yeah, it was a special Christmas Believe me, it’s true I stayed up till 2! (Outro) Yeah, I really did. Saw the boots... saw the beard... (Yawning sound) Man, I'm tired now. Merry Christmas... zzzzz.
