Schrödinger’s Zinger

V5

It was a YouTube video, a viral debate On "Top Ten Historical Goats Who Were Great." The thread was a war zone of nonsense and spam But I saw my moment, I knew who I am. I cracked all my knuckles, I took a deep breath And crafted a comment defying all death. It was witty, insightful, a little bit snide, With a perfectly placed emoji inside. I hit "post." I could write a screen play, a cinematic feat 'Bout the time I dropped gold on the internet street. A heart felt performance, a tragedy-slash-farce About shouting my genius at the cold universe. It's a one-woman show in a theater so grand, "The Comment No One Saw," coming soon to on-demand! I crafted my words with ironic flair, Memes and citations nobody cared. Buried alive under a thousand takes, My genius lost in the algorithm’s breaks. I could make a whole podcast, A Netflix cartoon, About how I posted brilliance That died by noon. Yeah, I could score a big soundtrack, Hire Hans Zimmer, too, To play the moment I hit submit… And nobody noticed the view. I screamed into the comment box… The comment box did not scream back. Shocking, I know. Is the algorithm broken? Am I shadow-banned? Was my take just too brilliant for them to understand? It sits there with zero likes, zero replies, A monument to effort that nobody buys. It's Schrödinger's zinger, a quantum affair, It's both a mic-drop and not even there! I checked it five minutes later, my pulse getting quick Just waiting for up votes, that glorious click. But a guy who wrote "L O L" had a hundred replies, And a bot selling crypto was getting the prize. My comment was sinking, lost down in the fray Below "Like if you're watching in twenty twenty five." I refreshed on my laptop, I refreshed on my phone, I was a digital genius, dying alone. Oh, I could write a screenplay, a cinematic feat 'Bout the time I dropped gold on the internet street. A heart felt performance, a tragedy-slash-farce About shouting my genius at the cold universe. It's a one woman show in a theater so grand, "The Comment No One Saw," coming soon to on-demand! I could build an empire, A theme park ride, About how my words got swallowed By the endless tide. Yeah, I could win an Oscar, And thank the crowd, For ignoring the post That I typed out loud. Nobody saw it. Nobody saw it. Except me… Refreshing endlessly. 2025 Lyrics by Nikki H. / GenXDreams
