With joystick in hand, my childhood I lost, Through virtual worlds I wandered, I crossed. I built up farms, cities, nations untold, Faced zombie legions and armies bold. In a thousand battles where I fought my way, I bled, I died, revived to slay. I suffered, I thrilled, felt passions extreme — Now I’m a pro, yet without a dream. I asked for help a thousand times, Seeking support in silent rhymes. The answer was steady, forever the same: “To find it yourself is life’s true game.” But I never found it, however I tried, So fantasies rule me, wild and wide. They border on nonsense, drifting apart, Half-born illusions that tease the heart. I’m not insane — quite the reverse, I savor each moment, the universe. If the first leap fails, take care, beware: A jump to the void may not be fair. I stayed awake, awaiting the sun, But dawn slipped past — the night had won. I wrote a book, its tale held tight, And reading again, I’m caught each night. I built a museum with treasures bizarre, Statues missing heads and arms afar. I longed to daydream, simple, sweet, But my mind ran off, left me no seat. All things are close if time you claim, Though centuries pass in the crossing game. My shadow rebelled, ignored my stride, So I changed it out for one dignified. I studied the patience of waiting for light, Now an hour blinks past in a terrible flight. I charged my phone from my car one day, The Tesla died — such a fateful play. If you think no one cares, just run the red, The law will greet you with words instead. I wrote a song without the score, Sometimes I copy the radio’s lore. The world is broken, nothing to add, Yet in this state, I’m strangely glad. A cop pulled me over, asked my speed, I laughed: “Infinity’s mine indeed.” To escape, my final plan I showed: I set my phone to airplane mode. No fire, no spark — what a sad surprise. If I must choose a place to reside, I’ll stay at my parents’, never depart — For here’s my home, my resting heart. Yes, here I’ll stay, I’ll never roam, This is my place, my only home.
