Couldn’t Care

House lights fade, the floor’s all smoke, laughs like echoes, I just choke. Someone hands me glitter pain, same old night in a different vein. I see faces melt to gold, their stories spill, already told. Sip the silence, taste the sound, nothing here can hold me down. ohhhhhhhh! I don’t care if the pills hit slow, don’t care if the lights all glow. All this noise feels paper thin, I’m here, but not within. I don’t care if the crowd gets loud, lost in fog, I fade from the crowd. If this is living, let it be , ‘cause nothing ever touches me. Someone moving, half in frame, I forget their face, recall their name. Every touch feels secondhand, I fade like ink on shaking hands. They call it love, I call it spin, a loop I’m always falling in. ohhhhhhhh! They call it fun, I call it blur, a thousand highs I can’t infer. I’ve seen the sunrise through my tears, it’s all the same in borrowed years. ohhhhhhh! I don’t care if the pills hit slow, don’t care if the lights all glow. All this noise feels paper thin, I’m here, but not within. I don’t care if the crowd gets loud, lost in fog, I fade from the crowd. If this is living, let it be , ‘cause nothing ever touches me. ohhhhh! Fade me out like smoke in rain, no love, no hurt, no need to explain. Couldn’t care, couldn’t feel, maybe numb is just being real. ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
