MY FEET FORGOT TO DANCE [Verse 1] I knew the step I knew it right I danced it fine All Friday night I turned around I crossed the floor I knew what every Step was for Then you walked in And took one glance My heart said go My feet forgot to dance [Chorus] My feet forgot to dance My feet forgot to dance You looked at me And there I stood I tried to move I really would My feet forgot to dance Soon as I saw you [Verse 2] The band played fast The band played slow Everybody knew Which way to go Left foot here Right foot there Then you smiled And I went nowhere I knew the beat I knew the chance My heart said go My feet forgot to dance [Chorus] My feet forgot to dance My feet forgot to dance (What happened, boy?) I wish I knew! I knew the steps Till I saw you My feet forgot to dance Soon as I saw you [Bridge] Maybe my knees Got scared somehow Maybe they’ll work If you show me how Take my hand Count one, two, three If my feet won’t dance You can dance with me [Verse 3] You took my hand The strangest thing My feet remembered Everything One little turn One little chance Then you let go And they forgot the dance [Final Chorus] My feet forgot to dance My feet forgot to dance When you’re away They work just fine You come around They’re not even mine My feet forgot to dance Soon as I saw you [Outro] Soon as I saw you There they went again Oh, Francis… Not again.
