[Chorus] We gotta take it slow When the pace of your life starts moving too fast Take it slow If you feel like the race has got you coming in last Take it slow Like driving in the winter through the ice and the snow Take it slow Like dawn finally breaking to the morning’s first glow Take it slow Like the mighty oak tree and the way that it grows Take it slow [Verse 1] The world keeps telling us to keep moving faster Feels like we’re inches away from unnatural disaster Watching ten second clips, for dopamine hits Convinced accelerated pace is what will win us the race If we start to get bored, it just means we need more Told that quiet’s a waste, so we move with more haste Keeping ourselves so busy, till we start getting dizzy Instant gratification, is drowning the nation We fill all of our time, as if it would be a crime To take a little step back, or some time to relax But the thing that we need, is a reduction in speed [Chorus] We gotta take it slow When the pace of your life starts moving too fast Take it slow If you feel like the race has got you coming in last Take it slow Like driving in the winter through the ice and the snow Take it slow Like dawn finally breaking to the morning’s first glow Take it slow Like the mighty oak tree and the way that it grows Take it slow [Verse 2] Take a slight hesitation, make a better observation The true speed of the soul, moves at a pace that is slow Feel the sun on your skin, hear the song in the wind Make a patient decision, to enhance the clear vision Loosen your grip and release, start remember the peace That comes with slowing your heart and your mind A change in direction, or a shift in perception Helps to leave stress and frustration behind Take a deep breath in, and relax, cause you know When we stop moving fast, it gives us time to grow [Chorus] So take it slow We gotta take it slow When you feel like your life is moving way too fast If you feel like the race has got you coming in last Take it slow Like driving in the winter through the ice and the snow Like the dawn finally breaking to the morning’s first glow Take it slow Like the mighty oak tree and the way that it grows The truth sets us free once we finally know Turn your attention inside, start to quiet your mind And take it slow Now that you know Just take it slow Relax in the glow And, take it slow Yeah, take it slow
