[Intro, funeral organ, low drone, spoken, menacing] Somethin' died this year. No funeral. No obituary. Most people still talkin' to it like it's in the room... it isn't. [Verse 1, menacing double-time chopper, horrorcore] Nineteen sixty-two, Thomas Kuhn put out The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, writin' 'bout science, but it fit any house that the people live in together, A paradigm, the shared frame, the assumptions you work inside and never notice, it tell you what count as a problem, an answer, as evidence, all of it tethered, Paradigms don't wear out gentle, first little things stop fittin', he called 'em anomalies, a result that shouldn't be there, a measurement off, so they explain it away, Bad equipment, bad luck, a one-off, then the anomalies pile, explanations get strained, the confidence crack, then the frame break, and a new one take its place, not a slope, a break, You grew up in the one that broke, seein' was believin', forgery cost, footage was hard, if a voice on the phone sound like your boss, it's your boss, if a photo show a flood, it's a flood, Call it the friction-protected trust paradigm, trust held up by effort, not by anybody checkin', by the plain cost of lyin' well, it was reasonable, it wasn't naive, it was good, In a world where the fakin' was hard, and that world is gone, it's a body, lyin' there, people still usin' it outta habit, still talkin' to it, feedin' it blood... [Hook, sung, descending, funeral choir echoes, organ swell] It's dead, not dyin' (not dyin'), no tomorrow where it breathe (it breathe), Stop talkin' to the corpse (the corpse), it can't answer you no more (no more), It lets fakes in (fakes in), it lets truth out (truth out), Still warm enough to fool you (fool you)... gettin' colder by the week... [Hook, fast chant, whispered gang vocals] Corpse, corpse, cold on the floor, the friction ain't comin' back, ain't comin' back no more, Dead, dead, not dyin', it's dead, liar's dividend, fakes in, truth out, dead... [Verse 2, haunted sing-song chopper, harmonized] Kuhn said watch the anomalies, so watch 'em, SE 1, October to October, the year this book is countin', the anomalies mountin', September thirtieth, twenty twenty-five, a week 'fore the year, Sora 2 launched, synchronized sound and a social app, in weeks crude made-up videos of historical figures filled up the feeds, it was loud, Mid-October, the estate of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. objected to disrespectful depictions, and OpenAI paused generations resemblin' him, it went down, His daughter, Bernice King, asked people to stop sendin' her AI videos of her father, a daughter askin' strangers to stop sendin' her father sayin' what he never said, out loud, [Verse 2 continued, fastest, organ stabs] October seventeenth, a campaign ad, an AI version of a sitting senator speakin', a small label, "AI GENERATED," experts said it was easy to miss when you scrollin' through, March twenty twenty-six, a war in the Middle East escalated, the feeds filled with AI strike footage, one fake got the hand distorted, the skyline wrong, documented, true, April twenty twenty-six, the consumer Sora shut down, and the fakes that it made didn't shut down with it, you can't un-invent the box with no lens, no goin' back, And the explainin' away, it was labeled, a cartoon, a stunt, only fooled a few, a tech problem, a politics problem, each a little bit true, it don't feel like denial, it feel reasonable, every paradigm defend itself till it crack, Then the second rot, worse, once everybody know anything can be faked, anybody can call the real thing fake, a genuine recordin' of somethin' terrible waved off as "probably AI," Two law professors named it in twenty nineteen, the liar's dividend, so the corpse fail in both directions, it lets fakes in, it lets truth out, and it lie... [Bridge, organ alone, whispered] Your eyes still say "picture, therefore event," your aunt still forward the video with three exclamation points, The labels are real, good beams, they buy time, use 'em... but they are not resurrection, They are tools for livin' after. [Hook, sung, descending, funeral choir echoes] It's dead, not dyin' (not dyin'), no tomorrow where it breathe (it breathe), Stop talkin' to the corpse (the corpse), it can't answer you no more (no more), It lets fakes in (fakes in), it lets truth out (truth out), Still warm enough to fool you (fool you)... gettin' colder by the week... [Hook, fast chant, whispered gang vocals] Corpse, corpse, cold on the floor, the friction ain't comin' back, ain't comin' back no more, Dead, dead, not dyin', it's dead, liar's dividend, fakes in, truth out, dead... [Outro, spoken, organ fades, beat stops dead] The old paradigm asked one question about a picture: does it look real? That question is dead too. (dead too) Stop talkin' to the corpse... ask which path it walked in on.
