Hypocrite

V5

Verse 1 Who does he think he is. I used to see him at the bar. He grew up down my street Everyone knows he won’t get far Then I heard them say, he goes to church now Just another hypocrite who’s holier than thou. Pre Chorus Then I turned and said to them, This may not be my place But I go to that church you speak and have been saved by grace. Chorus I don't hide the roads I've been on, Or who I used to be. I've got more scars than I can count, More failures than you'll ever see. But grace has done what I could not, And changed my destiny. So, when you call them a hypocrite, You're also talking about me. Verse 2 She had quite the reputation, Everybody knew her name. People love to talk about her, Long after she had changed. Then I heard them say, she goes to church now She is just a hypocrite thats hiding in the crowd. Bridge When I finished sharing my story, they had a tear in their eyes I told them service is at ten, you don’t need a dress or a tie And then I said one last time Final chorus I’m not the person I once was, and I hope I’ll never be. I have been rescued by a Savior who gave His life for me. I am broken, I have failed, but His grace has set me free. And I think you need to know now… that hypocrite was always me. Outro Yeah, that hypocrite was always me.
