[Verse 1] Blue jacket hanging by the door Bought it for a life I kept postponing A hundred reasons I should stay One good friend calling from the hallway My phone says rain until eleven You say a little rain's a good beginning [Pre-Chorus] I used to wait to feel brand new Now I get dressed and let the feeling catch up too [Chorus] If the blue jacket's on, I'm going Even if I don't know where If a good song starts, I'm moving Even with a little scared in there I don't need the whole night planned Just my keys and an open hand If the blue jacket's on, I'm going See you at the bottom of the stairs [Verse 2] We take the tram to the last bright stop Share the umbrella from the corner shop The band is late, the coffee's strong A girl behind the counter sings along Nothing happened like we thought Somehow that's the best part of what we've got [Pre-Chorus] I used to wait to feel brand new Now I get dressed and let the feeling catch up too [Chorus] If the blue jacket's on, I'm going Even if I don't know where If a good song starts, I'm moving Even with a little scared in there I don't need the whole night planned Just my keys and an open hand If the blue jacket's on, I'm going See you at the bottom of the stairs [Bridge - intimate solo vocal, piano and strings] Confidence is sometimes small A color by the bedroom wall Something I can put on first Until my heart remembers how it works [Instrumental interlude - orchestra and rhythm section, no vocals] [Final Chorus] If the blue jacket's on, I'm going Even if I don't know where If a good song starts, I'm moving Even with a little scared in there I don't need the whole night planned Just my keys and an open hand If the blue jacket's on, I'm going See you at the bottom of the stairs [Outro] Bottom of the stairs I'll meet you there Blue jacket, open air
