12 - “THE GOD WHO ANSWERS” — Inspired by Genesis 17–18 and Matthew 7
VERSE 1 — The Covenant of Promise In the heat of desert morning, Abram heard the Holy One, “Walk before Me, be wholehearted—your new story has begun. I will make you into nations, kings will rise from your own line, And My covenant of mercy will endure for all of time.” VERSE 2 — A Name and a Future He bowed low beneath the glory as his name was changed that day, From Abram into Abraham—God’s promise on display. And Sarah heard her calling, though her hope felt worn and thin, Yet heaven spoke her future and new life would rise within. CHORUS — Ask, Seek, Knock Ask and you will find Him, Seek and He draws near. Knock and He will open Every door you fear. For the God who spoke the promise Still hears the faintest cry— He is faithful, He is present, And His mercy never dies. VERSE 3 — The Visitors and the Laughter Three strangers came at noonday, standing quiet in the heat, Abraham ran to greet them, bowed and offered them a seat. They spoke a word of wonder Sarah struggled to believe— But her laughter turned to trembling at the joy she would receive. VERSE 4 — The Intercessor’s Plea Then the Lord revealed His purpose, judgment rising in His hand, And Abraham stood pleading for the righteous in the land. A shadow of the Savior who would teach us how to pray— To trust the Father’s goodness in the light and in the fray. BRIDGE — The Rock Beneath Our Feet Build your life on mercy, Build your life on grace. Let the storms come crashing, Still His word remains. For every heart that listens, For every soul that knocks— The God who keeps His promise Sets their feet upon the Rock. FINAL CHORUS — Ask, Seek, Knock Ask and you will find Him, Seek and He draws near. Knock and He will open Every door you fear. For the God who spoke the promise Still hears the faintest cry— He is faithful, He is present, And His mercy never dies. TAG He is faithful… He is near.
