[Intro] [Soft shimmering synthesizers, distant electronic chimes, dreamy atmosphere] [Gentle female vocal] Somewhere in the universe A little signal died And nobody could find the guy Who'd gone for quite a ride [Verse 1] Walter had a show to do The music queued to play But someone who was meant to come Had quietly slipped away A message here, a message there A phone that wouldn't ring And Erik in another world Not noticing a thing [Pre-Chorus] One little bite, a cosmic flight The ceiling turned to stars While everybody searched for him He'd made it past Mars [Chorus] Oh, space brownies Where did Erik go? Somewhere past the satellites Where nobody would know Walter's getting worried And the phone just rings and rings While Erik's floating peacefully On chocolate-covered wings [Post-Chorus] [Airy layered harmonies] Ooh, he's gone to the moon Ooh, he'll be back sometime soon [Verse 2] The minutes turned to hours And the silence wasn't right He'd missed the show, ignored his phone And vanished for the night So Walter made the phone call That nobody wants to make While Erik dreamed of galaxies Too far away to wake [Pre-Chorus] The stars were softly blinking His dreams were floating free But back on planet Earth They'd called the authorities [Chorus] Oh, space brownies Where did Erik go? Somewhere past the satellites Where nobody would know Walter's getting worried And the phone just rings and rings While Erik's floating peacefully On chocolate-covered wings [Instrumental Break] [Extended sparkling synth arpeggios, warm analog bass, playful electronic echoes, drifting cosmic textures] [Bridge] [Gentle, almost whispered vocal] There's a knock upon the doorway There's a question in the air There's a very sleepy Erik Wondering why the cops are there No alien abduction No mystery to solve Just a brownie with ambitions And a man who'd gone offline [Build] [Layered harmonies rise over pulsing synths] The radio kept playing The whole world carried on And somewhere in the aftermath A legendary joke was born [Final Chorus] Oh, space brownies Now we know where Erik went He was sleeping through the panic Not a single message sent Walter called the cavalry To find his missing friend And Erik took a trip to space Without leaving his bed [Outro] [Soft twinkling synths, fading electronic chimes] So if you have a radio show And someone disappears Before you call the cavalry Just check for souvenirs [Soft spoken, amused] Erik... Maybe just half next time? [Final synth sparkle]
