Down at the playground, long ago, the teachers told us what we oughta know. "Four old pillars make the world turn 'round", that's the kind of wisdom that was handed down. They said: without those four, you'd lose your way, Without those four, there'd be no day. Without those four, we'd all agree, no kind of reasonable life could be. Four old elements, strong and grand, built every city, built every land. From the mountain high to the deep blue sea, no reasonable life could ever be. Four old elements, tried and true, holding up me, holding up you. That's what the wise men used to preach, and who am I to question each? Then I went to school and I learned some more, read big books about those famous four. Professors talked and philosophers smiled, explaining it all in a manner so styled. They said: Empires rise and empires fall, but those four elements outlast them all. They're in every river, every field, every tree, no reasonable life could ever be. Four old elements, strong and grand, built every city, built every land. From the mountain high to the deep blue sea, no reasonable life could ever be. Well, I got older, started thinking for myself, pulled all that old wisdom off the shelf. Looked at the world, looked far and wide, and one little question got stuck inside. I said: Maybe the ancients got it almost right, maybe they saw the day but missed the night, maybe they knew about one, two, three... but forgot the one that matters to me. Now hold on brothers... Hold on sisters... Let's think about this seriously. Because the ancient Greeks... Yeah, they were smart... But they got one thing wrong! The four elements are: Fire! Water! Air! Ice Cream! Fire for the cold, water for the heat, air for the breathing, and ice cream for the treat! Fire! Water! Air! Ice Cream! And without ice cream, don't you see, no reasonable life could ever be! No, no, no... Without ice cream, don't you see, no reasonable life could ever be! One more scoop! Maybe they knew about one, two, three... But forgot the one that matters to me. Fire! Water! Air! And Ice Cream!
