©️SpaceGhostBones 🌑🖤✌🏻 I had a bad dream. I had a bad dream. You asked me to wash your hair for you. So I did. It was something I used to do for you Every once in a while, head hung over The kitchen sink. So I washed your hair. You went to dry it and I went… somewhere - When I came back to find you, you were gone. More than gone, you were missing. You were lost. I wandered the rest of the night searching for you, Asking everyone if they saw you, Telling everyone you were gone, and fearing that someone Had taken you. Someone had taken you, I knew it - You were no where to be found, Gone without a trace, And I couldn’t hear your laugh f rom anywhere. There were tons of people in and out, Some we knew and some we didn’t And SOMEONE must have taken you! Why wasn’t anyone else searching As hard as I was? So I wandered the rest of the night, The rest of my dream, Searching. I looked for you and looked and the more I looked The more certain I was that I would never find you. The building was too big, There were too many people, And you could have been anywhere. You were lost. By the end of the night, I was sobbing and snotty, Playing scenarios in my head, Begging anyone To tell me something - To know something... But no one did. [Harmonic Chorus] You were no where to be found, Gone without a trace, And I couldn’t hear your laugh From anywhere. [Bridge] [Harmony] I was walking door to door, Listening for your voice - Your cry or your laugh - But I couldn’t hear you anywhere. (Anywhere) [Breakdown] I woke up before I gave up, But that hopeless feeling in my gut Lingered as I laid in bed gasping for breath Trying to calm myself and stop crying. I realized it was all a dream - Only to realize You’re still missing. Maybe not lost - But missing [Melancholic Outro] So here I am, At 3am. A 30 year old child Crying in the dark Because she misses her mother. [Shakey Sigh]
