“Don’t Buy Cheap Socks”②

V6

Fear of shifting, twisting, changing tides, Blindly spinning the wheel, brushing past the sights. Chasing thrills in the moment, future out of mind. Die— A fact you can’t outrun. Never still, just endlessly transforming. Live— No turning back the path you’ve come. Wet shoes on the road home, no matter what, Snow piles heavy on the tracks you’ve left. Empty plastic bottles, Scattered ‘cross the floor. Muttered words freeze solid, Blood crawls through stacks of paper ads. Like silverfish, they crumble into dust. A hole stays open, never sealed. Don’t buy cheap socks, they’ll let you down. Congested heart, a soul confined, Crowds condemn, a flare for help unwinds. Lived reckless, throwing it all away, Then one day you swear you’ll find a way. No redos, no promises, no proof— Just belief, raw and unyielding truth. Winds try to tear you apart, Chinatown walls, faded and scarred. Billboards scream of homes you’ll never own. On days no one’s there to point the blame, No games to play, no spark to claim. “Kindness bowing to power’s throne, That’s no kindness, it’s a lie we’ve known. Order’s chains? Let ‘em rust and break.” Walk until the world’s too much to take, Street trees blur, their names escape. The sky’s hue? Faded from your mind. Against the crowd, you push, you grind. “You’re worth more than they’ll ever see.” Break free from rebellion, from bending the knee. Death and leaving, blurred into one, No lines drawn, no answers won. It’s not about picking fights with hollow priests, Or chasing truths that never find release
