One of these days... One of these days... When I close my eyes, I see those days— Campfire smoke and gravel roads. You made friends with every stranger, Had everybody laughing till we cried. Picnic tables, sunburned shoulders, Secondhand lawn chairs in a row. Simple moments, rich and true— Every memory still finds you there. You never needed riches To give us everything. Love was always waiting In the little things. One of these days Is today. The day you heard your Savior say, “Welcome home, Your race is run.” Safe forever in His love. Though our hearts Still ache this way, Faith reminds us as we pray: One of these days... We’ll hear Him say, “Welcome home.” One of these days. When I was young, I didn’t understand Why every dollar mattered so much. Now I know. It wasn’t money. It was simply one more way you loved us. You loved people, Never met a stranger. You never hid what you believed. And if someone needed honesty, You’d tell them straight, then hug their neck. Still somehow, Your words were wrapped Inside a heart that always cared. Looking back, I finally see it clear— Everything you did, you did from love. Seven years ago, Dad went home. We always knew There would come a day. We all say, “It’ll happen One of these days.” But no matter how prepared we think we are, It’s still a surprise When one of these days Is today. One of these days, We’ll meet again. No more goodbyes, No tears to mend. Around the table He has prepared, We’ll laugh again Like you are there. One of these days, Our faith will turn to sight. One of these days, Morning defeats the night. One of these days, We’ll hear Him say, “Welcome home, Child, come away.” And I can’t wait Until one of these days Is today. Until then, We’ll keep loving. We’ll keep believing. And we’ll keep remembering. One of these days Is today.
