[Intro] [Male whisper] Candles out. Masks on. Count the teeth. The night is ours. [Verse 1] Boots hit hard on the cracked-up lane Paper bats whip in the cold wind's chain Candy tin rattles, the gate swings wide Grinning pumpkins line up side by side [Pre-Chorus] They lock the hall, they kill the lights We bring our own unruly night [Chorus] Forbidden Halloween! Kick the doors and shake the street Forbidden Halloween! Little monsters, crooked grins No one gets to cage this night We come laughing, dressed to bite Forbidden Halloween! Let the whole town join the spin [Verse 2] Black cat darts past the shuttered shop Tin-foil crown and a jack-o'-lantern top We stomp the leaves till the old boards shake A crooked parade that the rules can't break [Break] [Male whisper] Freeze. Hold that grin. Wait for it. [Shouted] GO! [Chorus] Forbidden Halloween! Kick the doors and shake the street Forbidden Halloween! Little monsters, crooked grins No one gets to cage this night We come laughing, dressed to bite Forbidden Halloween! Let the whole town join the spin [Bridge] One for the witch at the corner store Two for the goblins pounding the floor Three for the kids with their sleeves rolled high Four—now laugh till the banshees fly [Stop-Start Break] [Whisper] Step... stop... Step... stop... [Shout] Run! [Final Chorus] Forbidden Halloween! Kick the doors and shake the street Forbidden Halloween! Little monsters, crooked grins No one gets to cage this night We come laughing, dressed to bite Forbidden Halloween! Let the whole town join the spin [Outro] [Whisper] Round the bend, the lanterns sway... [Playful shout] The ghosts are taking over the parade! [Instrumental: mischievous spooky-carnival groove]
