[Verse 1] Come gather 'round, good folk and true, a tale I'll now impart, Of Wesley, simple farm boy once, with courage in his heart! His hands were strong from honest toil, his mind both sharp and keen, His love for fair Buttercup was, the greatest ever seen! [Verse 2] "As you wish," was all he'd say, when asked to fetch and carry, Those simple words meant much, much more, his heart they did quite marry! But fortune cruel did part these two, when Wesley sailed away, To seek his fortune o'er the sea, to fund their wedding day! [Verse 3] Alas! Disaster struck most foul, pirates seized his ship! The Dread Roberts himself, they say, gave Wesley quite the trip! But rather than a watery grave, the lad found something more, A mentor in this pirate chief, who taught him sea-bound lore! [Verse 4] "Good night, sleep well, I'll most likely kill you in the morning," The pirate said each eve to him, a most peculiar warning! Yet Wesley learned the pirate's ways, with sword and sail and rope, His mind absorbed each lesson taught, beyond all pirate hope! [Verse 5] Then one fine day, the pirate spoke, a secret to reveal, "I'm not the Dread Roberts at all, the truth I'll now unseal! The name's a legacy passed down, from pirate unto pirate, And now to you I'll pass the mask, you've truly earned to try it!" [Verse 6] So Wesley donned the pirate's garb, and took the fearsome name, The Dread Pirate Roberts he became, with newfound wealth and fame! But never did his heart forget, the love he left behind, Buttercup's face in dreams appeared, within his troubled mind! [Verse 7] Thus ends not our hero's tale, much more there is to tell, Of cliffs of insanity climbed, and fire swamps as well! But save that for another night, when cups are filled anew, And I've rested both my voice and lute, to sing more tales to you! [Final Flourish] Now coin and cup I humbly seek, for tales of love so true! For even pirates need true hearts, this minstrel knows it's true!
