Storm Inside Me

There’s a heavy sky in my chest Clouds that refuse to leave Silence screams so loudly I no longer know how to escape Lightning strikes are memories Cutting deep without a sign And every thunder that echoes Is something I couldn’t keep inside I pretend I’m calm on the outside But inside it’s endless chaos It’s a storm inside of me Winds I can’t control Pain rains through every piece I tried to hide and hold And even when the sun tries to rise Something turns it dark again It’s a war that never ends This storm within Waves crash at the edge Of a heart already worn I sail through restless oceans No harbor, no path, no form And every drop that falls Carries a part of me Like I’m slowly fading away Into infinity And I smile for just a moment But I collapse inside It’s a storm inside of me Winds I can’t control Pain rains through every piece I tried to hide and hold And even when the sun tries to rise Something turns it dark again
