I Go Blind from the Screaming

V5
Surrounded by silence, A deafening sound, Delirium sets in, Words all around. Hundreds of faces, Dozens of signs, Noise all around us, Feeling confined. The writing’s on the wall, Chalk outlines below panes, A city’s soul is gone, Blackened by the stains. It’s all graffiti, It’s all ads, Faces on billboards, Signs that command. I close my eyes, Take a break from the strain, Inhale, exhale, Releasing the pain. So many words, Yet nothing is said, I go blind from the screaming, But hear it all again. So much noise, Yet nothing is said, I won’t hear the silence, Until I am dead.
