Is this real? The real story

V4.5

- [ ] I was going to the bathroom singing “my my my, wtf” I was interrupted by a box of gloves sitting on the small dresser in front of me. Why is there a small hole and why is the box slightly tilted towards facing the toilet. My memory starts racing of the 1st time I saw the box of gloves appear in the bathroom at least a year earlier and then about 6 months earlier noticing the hole in the box and commenting in my head that “oh we must be doing target practice up here in vallejo” and then back to this very moment. Why are they large gloves, we are mostly women that work here and why do we have gloves exposed in the bathroom in the 1st place, that’s disgusting! So I make a comment out loud and say “I bet there’s a camera up in this motha fuckah” so I reach into the very full glove box expecting to feel the other side of the hole in the box, but instead I feel something hard! I pull the box closer and slightly tear the box open to reveal a burnt red iPhone with its camera hole matched up to the hole in the box! I instantly jump up and run out the door! 2 of my coworkers are sitting there. At this point I’m screaming “I feel something violated there’s a fuckin camera filming us pee” I put the box of gloves on the side table and then I rip the box open more and pull out the phone that is still recording. We all start to explore the phone trying to see the screen saver or the emergency button on the phone, but it’s stuck on a grey screen that reads iPhone storage full in a lighter greyed words! We notice the phone is 20% and in airplane mode! As soon as we realized that this was a crime scene, Kaitlyn put on gloves and attempted to interact with the phone to see if we could access the emergency screen. However, it remained stuck on the generic gray screen that read "iPhone storage full" with "20%" and "airplane mode" displayed. Understanding the gravity of the situation, we decided to place the phone back in the box and return the box to the bathroom as closely as possible to its original position. Jaime then called Lawanda, who arrived with security in about two minutes. Security began documenting the scene by taking pictures of everything. I noticed that they started to remove the gloves from the box and attempted to hand them to us. I immediately objected, stating that those gloves were part of the crime scene and should remain with the evidence. In response, Kaitlyn retrieved a biohazard bag and placed the gloves inside it to ensure they were properly handled. Meanwhile, Kris from security began flattening the box, and I asked him what he was doing. He reassured me, saying, “Don’t worry, we took pictures.” Afterward, I followed Lawanda to her office, where she informed me that security had advised me to get online. and I stood there for a moment as Lawanda instructed me to file a report under sexual assault. Confused, I asked her, “You’re not filing the report?” She replied that security had told me to file it myself. I nodded, feeling uncertain about the process but determined to figure it out. I then sat down with Jaime, who was equally stunned by what had transpired. She recounted her own shock when I emerged from the bathroom. After our conversation, I stepped outside to use my phone to file the report, but I found no option on the Vallejo PD website for filing a sexual assault report. Returning to the nurses' station, I noticed that everyone scheduled for Monday was present including the nurses that were scheduled for skills day. Coincidentally, Kaitlyn's mother from dietary was visiting and overheard my retelling of the incident. As I explained what had happened and mentioned that I was instructed to file a police report, Daleta suggested I sit over there and file it right at that moment. I got back on the computer to attempt to file the report, but once again, I found no section for filing a sexual assault report. Frustrated and concerned, I felt stuck without a clear path forward. Kaitlyn's mother kindly offered to take me downstairs to the ER, where they could assist me in filling out a sexual assault report. However, I decided to give management one last try. I returned to Lawanda and Ashton, hoping for a different response, but Lawanda reiterated that I should just fill it out on the computer. Frustrated and feeling unsupported, I made my way downstairs to the dietary department. There, Kaitlyn’s mother took me into her manager’s office, where John was already aware of the situation. He told me to sit down and assured me he would help. He then called the Vallejo PD and initiated the conversation, during which I was able to provide my report.
