Hung Gary

old-fashioned honky-tonk country, 1950s dancehall swing, brisk two-step groove, twangy electric guitar, upright bass, brushed snare and swinging piano, comic barroom storytelling, warm tape saturation, male lead vocal with exaggerated country drawl, chorus in a super-deep brassy baritone with punchy low harmonies, theatrical call-and-response, clean humorous delivery

[Chorus]
[Super-deep brassy baritone chorus]
Hung Gary, Hung Gary, the biggest name in town
He could fill a pair of trousers and still never sit right down
Hung Gary, Hung Gary, well, mercy, what a sight
Anna laughed so hard she nearly dropped the cherry pie tonight

[Verse 2]
Now Gary had a mighty member, or so the rumors swore
It needed its own saddlebag and maybe one or four
The barber took one measuring tape, then packed his things to leave
He said, “I trim moustaches, friend, but this is past my skill to grieve”

[Bridge]
Anna said, “Now hold your horses, Gary, don’t parade that pride
A gentleman keeps some mystery tucked neatly by his side”
Gary tipped his hat and said, “Your wish is my command”
Then he bought the whole cafe a round of lemonade so grand

[Verse 3]
They married by the courthouse with a preacher from the train
The witness signed the paper, then he signed it once again
Their bed was built like a wagon, reinforced with iron springs
And Anna kept a ruler handy for measuring wedding rings

[Final Chorus]
[Super-deep brassy baritone chorus]
Hung Gary, Hung Gary, the biggest name in town
He could fill a pair of trousers and still never sit right down
Hung Gary, Hung Gary, Anna’s happy as can be
She says, “The joke is mighty funny, but he’s sweet enough for me!”

[Outro]
Now if you pass through Anna’s diner, tip your hat and holler “Howdy!”
She’ll serve you pie and tell you why her husband’s built so proudly
Hung Gary, Hung Gary, ride that legend through the night
And leave a little room beside you—he needs extra legroom right
