--- Taking the persona and going with a bit more of a softer country song with some nice fingerpicking acoustic guitar elements. Really liked how this one came out. Especially the unique take on the actual singing of the lyrics "Sometimes I only feel like dancing in my head" the second time it appears in the chorus. Has a really nice variance to the cadence and pitch. Really helps sell the emotional side of it. I also like how the beat kicks in right as the lyrics say "There's a rhythm tapping . . ." nice touch! Concept is that sometimes you just want to listen to a song and zone out from the world. It might be a high voltage blasting song, but you just want to lose yourself in the song and don't feel like being out there dancing to it. You want to be taken by the song and also be alone with your thoughts. This one hit pretty much all the elements I was looking for. No real "EDM standout" moments, but I think that's ok. :-) Just means that maybe the next song needs to be more EDM centric. ~David --- [Musical Introduction] [Intricate Acoustic Guitar Fingerpicking] [Verse 1] The room is loud but I’m barely here Blurred faces, clinking fears Everyone’s searching for someone else I’m just trying to hear myself There’s a rhythm tapping behind my eyes A thousand thoughts I don’t let outside I don’t need a floor, don’t need a crowd I turn it up and I turn it down [Pre-Chorus] I slip away without moving an inch Close my eyes, let the moment bend I don’t want hands, I don’t want names Just a beat running through my veins [Chorus] Sometimes I only feel like dancing in my head Spinning in the silence, losing what was said I don’t need the lights, I don’t need your hands I just need the sound to understand Sometimes I only feel like dancing in my head That’s where I’m alive again [Verse 2] Headphones on like a locked front door World slows down, I breathe once more Every note finds a hidden thought Every drop ties a tangled knot High voltage just to calm me down Fast heartbeats make a softer sound It’s funny how the loudest song Is the only place I feel I belong [Pre-Chorus] I let the rhythm pull me deep Where the noise finally falls asleep No expectations, no demands Just a pulse I can hold in my hands [Chorus] Sometimes I only feel like dancing in my head Chasing all the ghosts I never said I don’t need the floor, I don’t need the plans I just need the music where I stand Sometimes I only feel like dancing in my head That’s where I’m alive again [Musical Interlude] [EDM swell with restrained drop — emotional, not aggressive] [Acoustic guitar continues underneath, fingerpicking grows more complex] [Bridge] Maybe I’m not running away Maybe I’m just learning how to stay When the world asks too much of me This is my kind of therapy I move without a single step Lose my breath, then catch it again [Chorus – Final] Sometimes I only feel like dancing in my head Let the tempo hold me instead I don’t need the room, I don’t need the stage I just need a song to turn the page Sometimes I only feel like dancing in my head That’s where I’m alive again [Outro] So turn it up and let it fade I’ll meet the quiet halfway Still spinning when the sound is dead Sometimes… I only dance in my head [Complex Acoustic Guitar Fingerpicking] [Musical Ending] [Fade Out] [End]
