[Verse] Well I walk into Sotheby's looking for a deal Searching 'til my face was blue I needed something real Upon the wall was hanging a sight so wild and free A great big yellow banana six million just for me [Verse 2] I thought I'd seen a treasure but this was a big surprise The crowd they started buzzing I could see it in their eyes The bidding got so heated the room began to spin A golden fruit of fortune wrapped up in a grin [Chorus] Oh banana banana why you shining so bright I spent my savings on you now I'm searching for light With every peel and angle you hold the world so tight Banana banana you turned my wrongs to rights [Bridge] Folks were scratching heads they couldn't look away A beacon of pure madness lighting up my dark day I left that grand old auction my heart a drum so bold A masterpiece of whimsy in my arms I hold [Verse 3] Six million reasons later and I'm still on this ride My banana's hanging proudly with a story worldwide Its yellow hue's a beacon of something quite bizarre A twist of fate and fortune now I’m a laughing star [Chorus] Oh banana banana why you shining so bright I spent my savings on you now I'm searching for light With every peel and angle you hold the world so tight Banana banana you turned my wrongs to rights
