Lyrics Theme / Imagery: A cracked rear-view mirror at sunrise — seeing the past in fragments while still moving forward. Grief, memory, and love for John Anthony remain, but there’s motion, light, and resolve. The road ahead isn’t easy, but it’s chosen. Song Structure: • Verse 1: Driving at dawn, cracked mirror, memories breaking into pieces • Pre-Chorus: Doubt and reflection — looking back vs. moving forward • Chorus: Clear emotional truth about John Anthony — love doesn’t fade, it rides along • Verse 2: Past moments replaying like flashes in the mirror • Chorus (bigger): Acceptance and strength growing • Bridge: Perspective shift — turning eyes from the mirror to the road ahead • Final Chorus: Hopeful lift, emotional release • Outro: Instrumental fade with warmth and resolve Instrumentation: • Piano or acoustic guitar foundation • Warm pads or strings swelling in choruses • Subtle drums building gradually • Optional light electric guitar textures in the final section ⸻ If you want, next time we can do: • 🎧 a 6/8 version • 🥁 drummer-centric groove ideas • 🎤 female vs male vocal rewrite • 🎶 or a country / Americana twist
