A Lyran occupant describes to me that the engine is based on (and so utilizes) enveloping field amplification; In nature, usually unseen fields are in constant motion, for example the smoke curling from a stick of incense, column of smoke, dust clouds, et cetra, will swirl of their own natural geometric formula; The wind doesn't just blow in one direction, it is constantly morphing and shifting multiple directions of airflow, these patterns are mathematically predictable and reproducible (e.g., Bezier curves, fractals, splines, and the like).

The engine looks like a sort of static model of a flower in bloom, it consists of many petals which surround an intelligent sensor array in the shape of a column, (i.e., the stem of the flower).

The engine is surrounded by a few thin circular rings at the mid point of the structure, as well the top and bottom fifth of the model.

"Petals" of the engine act as amplifiers which harness the pre-existing kinetic motion of energies, thus, when a spiral or curl of energy is present in movement towards the desired direction of travel, that frequency or energy is amplified in that instant, (which may only be microseconds of time) and the petal is seen to glisten slightly around its edges, and appears to rise.

Likewise, when an opposing swirl or curl of energy is present, a petal may lower and appears to darken slightly, in the middle somewhat, I am told this creates a counterbalance, harnessing that energy in a negating fashion, thus producing an amplified opposing flow, (which, in essence, creates a magnified flow in the desired direction as before).

These subtle interactions happen hundreds, if not thousands of times per second, and thus, produces lift in any desired direction. The levels of amplification are variable as well the sampling rates, (or frequency of harnessing these interactions) thus, realizing controlled acceleration of movement and balance.
