[Verse 1] Found a blue umbrella In a thrift-store bin Bent one rib, pink handle Still called me in I took it home in drizzle Like it knew my name Now every storm gets smaller When I step in the rain [Pre-Chorus] Spin it once, spin it twice Watch the gray sky shift One small thing in your hand Can turn a whole day bright [Chorus] Unlaced umbrella, take me out (umbrella, take me out) Turn this mess around (around, around) Unlaced umbrella, open wide (open wide) I was all soaked through Now I’m dry inside [Verse 2] Hung it by the doorway Like a flag of luck Neighbors asked me where I got it I just shrugged and laughed It’s got a tiny scratch mark And a little tear But it holds up better Than the plans I swear [Pre-Chorus] Spin it once, spin it twice Watch the gray sky shift One small thing in your hand Can turn a whole day bright [Chorus] Unlaced umbrella, take me out (umbrella, take me out) Turn this mess around (around, around) Unlaced umbrella, open wide (open wide) I was all soaked through Now I’m dry inside [Bridge] Maybe luck is small stuff Crooked, chipped, and brave Maybe what you save first Is the thing that saves your day So I keep that blue umbrella By the front door light One bent rib, one good reason To stay on my feet tonight [Chorus] Unlaced umbrella, take me out (umbrella, take me out) Turn this mess around (around, around) Unlaced umbrella, open wide (open wide) I was all soaked through Now I’m dry inside
