What Lonely Hearts Know
©2025 ModernBard (Verse 1) The wireless softly murmurs on, a sound that lonely hearts will know. Without, the evening breezes sigh, a language only they bestow. This chamber holds the very form your absence leaves, a truth a lonely heart must face. And I find myself to wonder, do other lonely hearts recall a lost embrace? (Pre-Chorus) A fragile hope yet lingers, a flicker that a lonely heart holds dear. Perchance, in your thoughts, a moment turns, a solace lonely hearts can hear. (Chorus) For lonely hearts know shadows deep, that cling where'er they go. They know the yearning's soft refrain, a melody that others don't. Are we but whispers on the wind, a moment only lonely hearts let go? (Verse 2) At times, I trace the window's glass, where phantom features lonely hearts can find. Each raindrop falls, a silent tear that speaks to those left behind. Our last farewell, a memory kept, a weight that lonely hearts all trace. A silent query hangs aloft – did your heart know this lonely space? (Verse 3) The melodies upon the air, they speak of joys that lonely hearts once knew. Of love that's found and ever true, a world where lonely hearts are few. I listen on, a soul apart, can other lonely hearts feel this way too? (Bridge) Perhaps the miles hold silence deep, a vastness lonely hearts perceive. Perhaps shared memories now drift far, a tale lonely hearts no longer weave together. (Outro) The dawn will break, the shadows flee, but what a lonely heart has known remains. The quiet hum of what has been, a bittersweet refrain that in the lonely spirit reigns.
