Sometimes I’m looking at what I don’t have, Looking at somebody else, Thinking maybe God forgot me, ’Cause I wanted something else. Then Gigi says, “Come look again, There’s more than what you see. Open up your little heart— God’s goodness is with thee.” Look for His goodness, Look, look, look around! God has been so good to me, His goodness can be found. In the morning, in the nighttime, Everywhere I go, Surely goodness follows me— More than I could know! Goodness is the food I eat, A safe place I can sleep, Someone there to hold my hand, And promises God keeps. Goodness is a “yes” sometimes, And sometimes it’s a “no,” Sometimes God is protecting me From things I do not know. So Gigi says, “Come look again, Don’t only look for more. Sometimes what you’re searching for Is right outside your door.” Look for His goodness, Look, look, look around! God has been so good to me, His goodness can be found. In the laughter, in the waiting, On the sunny, rainy days, Surely goodness follows me In oh-so-many ways! His goodness keeps on running, Running after me! His goodness keeps on running, Even when I do not see! When I’m busy looking over there, God is loving me right here. When I think that He is far away, His goodness is still near. Maybe I didn’t get the toy. Maybe I didn’t win. Maybe someone got the thing I really wanted then. But goodness isn’t getting Everything I want today— Goodness is my Father knowing What is best along the way. Gigi, help me look again! What goodness can I see? Eyes to see and ears to hear How good God is to me! I see goodness in His kindness! I see goodness in His care! I see goodness when He helps me! I see goodness everywhere! I see goodness when He gives me! I see goodness when I wait! I see goodness when He guides me Down a different way! Look for His goodness, Look, look, look around! God has been so good to me, His goodness can be found. When I cannot understand it, I can trust the One who knows. God is good, and God is with me, Everywhere I go. Surely goodness, surely mercy, Following after me. Surely goodness, surely mercy, Helping my heart to see. So when my eyes get busy Looking everywhere but Him, Gigi says, “Come look again— Let the goodness hunt begin!” Look, look, look! What goodness can you see? Look, look, look! God’s been good to you and me! Look, look, look! There’s goodness all around! When we turn our eyes toward God, His goodness can be found. His goodness keeps on running, Running after me. And now I’m learning how to stop… And turn around… And see.
