This song was written for a young man with Asperger’s autism who has experienced a great deal of loneliness, exclusion, and bullying. Through Suno, he found a way to express himself through music. I’m proud of him for having the courage to share that side of himself. That kind of courage deserves respect, not ridicule. His songs were cruelly mocked in a Suno Facebook group. This song is a clear stand against bullying, against dehumanization, and against looking away. ❤️❤️❤️Maybe every remix will become another voice speaking up for Michael.❤️❤️❤️ [Verse 1] I was just a little kid back then, seeing the world through different eyes. I read the signals differently, I could feel the mood, just not the why. I often didn't understand why the way I was came across all wrong. Motor skills and conversation made it hard to play along. What people wanted, what they meant, when I was too much, when I got it wrong. Now I'm older, now I know this world can still be cruel. [Pre-Chorus] My road was hard. My days were heavy. Therapy and medication shaped my life. I kept asking, "What's wrong with me?" Because what I said never sounded right to them. What I felt was wrong. What I was was strange. And if you hear that long enough, you start to believe it. Yeah, you believe it. Ohhh Ohhhh You believe it. [Chorus] Don't hurt me. Don't hurt me with words. Don't shut me out. I live each day in a world that often doesn't understand me. I don't want much. Just to be seen. Just to be respected. Just to be loved for once without having to prove myself first. [Verse 2] In music I found shelter for my soul. It was the language I could speak. It held me up, and it gave me joy. Through it I felt less out of place, less invisible, and less alone. For the first time, there was hope that I might belong somewhere and have something real to share. And then there are people who leave malicious comments, using words that cut so deep. To them it's only sentences, only mockery, only entertainment. To me, a small spark of hope goes out. It hits deeper than you can imagine. Ohhhh Ohhhh ohhhhh Deeper than you can imagine! [Pre-Chorus] Do you know how hard that hits? Do you know what that can do? Do you feel better because of it? Do you feel above me now? [Hook] Don't hurt me. Don't hurt me with words. Don't shut me out. I live each day in a world that often doesn't understand me. I don't want much. Just to be seen. Just to be respected. Just to be loved for once without having to prove myself first. [Verse 3] I know the feeling of not having a place in this world. I know the feeling of seeing myself distorted in their eyes, as if everything about me is wrong just because I feel things differently than the rest of the world. I often didn't dare to say, "Something here is hurting me." I was too unsure, too hurt, too used to questioning myself. I didn't ask, "Why would people do that?" I only asked, "What is so wrong with me that I became the target?" And that is where the real wound starts. Not in one single sentence, but in all the years when you start believing you have no right to recognition, no right to boundaries, no right to say no, no right to your own truth. But I'm saying it anyway now: I have worth. These are my boundaries. I am allowed to say no. What I feel matters. This is my truth. And it is no less real just because others feel it differently. [Bridge] Look closely. Real greatness doesn't come from humiliating others. It comes when you have the courage to question your own behavior, when you realize that words can heal wounds too, when you truly apologize. [Quiet / Narrator] I see you. I respect you. You are a wonderful person. You are not wrong. You are a shining star in our sky, just like every other star around you. No one should have to spend a lifetime learning only how to endure pain. [Outro] Believe in yourself. Please believe in yourself. There are so many people who can see your worth. And who you are has worth.
