STILL MOVES — My contribution to my own What Survives chain Before anything else, I want to say thank you. In almost a year on Suno, this was the first time I started a remix chain around something that genuinely meant a lot to me — an instrumental of my own, Last Threshold, built around the theme What Survives. And I wasn’t prepared for what followed. More than once, my eyes got a little wet watching what people created from it. Friends, people from my group, artists I already knew — and then those completely unexpected notifications from people I had never imagined would pick it up. Different voices. Different stories. Different meanings of survival. Some went through resilience. Some through grief, rage, memory, hope, damage, absurdity… and every time, someone found a different way into the same question. Seeing people I admire being inspired, creative and genuinely brilliant with something that started from one of my own ideas has made me incredibly happy. Every contribution I’ve found is collected here: https://suno.com/playlist/5ca358af-bacc-4428-a23b-dca4e70f9090 And the original instrumental is here: Last Threshold [WhatSurvivesChain] https://suno.com/s/xkoEx1Lt0zvcB8n5 Unfortunately, this experience also ends on a slightly bittersweet note. Since September 3, the new rules around remixes between users have made this kind of collaborative workflow far more limited. We now have fantastic tools — the Editor, Studio 2.0, all these ways to correct, rearrange, adapt and improve a song — except that when it comes to remixing somebody else’s work, much of that creative freedom is no longer available. So yes… we have better tools than ever. Mostly to make things alone in our own little corners. Which makes the new “Songs to Remix” section feel just a tiny bit ironic. I understand that rules have to exist. Artists need protection, misuse has to be prevented, and creators should remain in control of their work. But somewhere in trying to solve that problem, I feel like something genuinely valuable has been damaged too: the spontaneous creative exchange between people. I know very few people will probably read all of this, but I needed to say it. I sincerely hope Suno eventually finds a better balance — one that protects creators from abuse without killing the creative community that makes remixing worth doing in the first place. Anyway… Normally this is where I explain the song, Riot, the strange style wheel that gave me abstract hip hop + stoner rock + hardcore techno + folk metal, and all the questionable decisions that followed. 😄 But I think I’ve said enough. To everyone who joined What Survives: thank you. Truly. This little experiment meant much more to me than I expected. And here is my own answer to the question. STILL MOVES. ☓ / LYRICS ──────────────────── [Intro] No miracle. No comeback speech. I just woke up again. Annoying, isn’t it? [Verse 1 ] Bad sleep. Cold floor. Same coat by the same damn door. Head full of static, mouth full of “fine.” Missed three calls— still made it outside. No map. No sign. No beautiful reason to call this mine. If I limp, I limp to the beat. Don’t call it brave. Call it repeat. [Pre-Chorus] One more hit. One more round. Something in me won’t stay down. [Chorus] What survives? THIS DOES. Half a nerve and bad blood. What survives? THIS MOUTH. Still got teeth— still spits it out. No clean win. No grand design. I break ugly. I heal out of line. What survives? Whatever still moves. And I’m moving. MOVE. [Verse 2] Screen says panic. Face says cool. Everybody learned how to play by the rules. Smile on cue. Stay in frame. Make it pretty, give the damage a name. Nah. I’ve got cracks I don’t need to hide. Bad wiring, good fucking stride. Some days crawl. Some days kick. Either way— I’m not done with it. [Pre-Chorus] One more hit. One more round. Feet still moving. Hear that sound? [Chorus] What survives? THIS DOES. Half a nerve and bad blood. What survives? THIS MOUTH. Still got teeth— still spits it out. No clean win. No grand design. I break ugly. I heal out of line. What survives? Whatever still moves. And I’m moving. MOVE. [Break] Resilience? Cute word. Sounds clean. Mine’s got chipped teeth. Mine sleeps in its clothes. Mine misses the exit, takes the long way home. Mine says “fuck it” and gets up anyway. Not healed. Not fixed. Just— still in motion. [Rhythmic Build] Step. Drag. Breathe. Again. Step. Drag. Breathe. Again. You don’t have to look good when you refuse to end. [Final Chorus] What survives? (THIS DOES!) What survives? (THIS DOES!) No clean win. No finish line. Break me ugly— I come back mine. What survives? (THIS MOUTH!) What survives? (THIS SOUND!) Whatever’s left when the lights go out— still moves. STILL MOVES. STILL MOVES. And I’m moving. MOVE. [Outro] That’s it. That’s the trick. Don’t stop. © 2026 ☓irbaf.
