🌈The Rainbow and Its Colors (read & listen)

V4.5+

🎧 I recommend listening with headphones! –– 🌍 My musical journey through Africa needed a song devoted to cosmogony — to the story of how the world was created. 🎶 This is that song. And I am deeply pleased with the result — the lyrics, the music, the voice, and the message. ✨ To me, it’s not just a story, but a moving song about the memory of the world… a memory that feels nowhere more authentic than in Africa. –– 🌈 The Rainbow and Its Colors ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 (how the world was born) 🧒🏾 The children gathered around the fire, and the old woman sat down beside them — with a calm face and eyes that seemed to burn with the memory of a distant beginning. 🧓🏾 “I will tell you how the world was created — not the way books teach it, but the way the Rainbow remembers…” 🧓🏾 Once, long ago — or perhaps outside of time — the world was not as we know it today. There was no sun ☀️. No green leaf 🌿. No ocean 🌊. There were only elements… and longing. ❤️ There was Fire. He was strong, devoted, burning with a desire for truth and justice. But his inner strength was such that he burned everything he touched. His heart ached with sorrow for that. 🧡 Then came Light. She did not burn — she revealed. She touched the world gently, showing what hid in the shadows. But by herself, her truth did not warm the heart. 💜 Love saw their sorrow. And whispered: “You are not enemies. You are parts. Come together.” Thus, ❤️ Fire and 🧡 Light met, and from their meeting ☀️ the Sun appeared — radiating light and warmth, clarity, insight, and passion. ☀️ The Sun looked upon the world, and in its golden gaze, the seed of 🌱 Life began to grow. 💛 But Life was fragile. It could not bear too much fire, nor too much light. It needed protection — and so 💙 Water came. She did not shine, did not glow — but she embraced. 💙 Water became the cradle of 🌍 Life. She softened the light, cooled the fire, and held the seeds until they sprouted 🌿. 💚 Life learned to reach its arms toward the Sun, and Love gave it the color green — so it could protect itself from being burned. The Rainbow is the memory of how the world was created, children. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 Each color — a gift. Each gift — a lesson. And when they all shine together after the rain, they remind us: we were not made to be alone.” One of the children frowned and asked: 🧒🏾 “Grandma... what is black?” 🧓🏾 “Ah, dear child… the Rainbow has no black. But not because it doesn’t exist. Black is what we see when the light has not yet reached us. When the Sun rises again — and it always rises — the colors return.” 🧒🏾 “And the cold?” 🧓🏾 “Cold is simply the place where warmth has not yet arrived. It’s not an enemy — it is the waiting room of fire.” 🧒🏾 “And evil?” 🧓🏾 The grandmother’s voice grew quiet: “Evil, my dear, is not a monster. It is the place where Love is most absent, where light has not yet shone, and fire does not warm. It is a cry. A cry for greater 💖 Love. Sometimes the world forgets this. But the Rainbow is here to remind us…” ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 ======================================= [Intro – Gentle calabash taps begin in 9/8+4/4; soft, round djembe rhythm follows heartbeat tempo; warm low hums underneath; the atmosphere is ancient, maternal, intimate, like sitting close to earth and flame.] [Verse 1 – Deep low female vocal, steady and calm] Once, before time — or maybe beyond it — there was no sun. No leaf. No ocean. Only longing. And the elements… [Verse 2 – Djembe deepens; faint crackling fire sound; subtle ambient wind swells] There was Fire. ❤️ Strong. Devoted. Burning for truth and justice. But his heat destroyed all he touched. Even his own heart ached from his flame. [Verse 3 – Balafon notes enter, light and clear; flute breath-tones trace soft melodic echoes] Then came Light. 🧡 She did not burn. She revealed. She touched the world with softness, but could not warm. Her truth was cold. [Bridge 1 – Talking drum enters with call-and-response phrasing; kora becomes more melodic, pulsing with breathlike phrasing; flute whispers float above like spirit voices; ambient background adds light ancestral textures — faint ululations, wind through leaves.] Love saw their sorrow and whispered: “You are not enemies. You are halves. Come together.” [Verse 4 – Percussion softens to emphasize words; kora and kalimba rise in harmony] And so they did. Fire and Light met — and from their meeting, the Sun was born. 💛 Heat and clarity. Insight and flame. [Verse 5 – Warm bass drone enters; background soundscape evokes golden sunrise, open space] The Sun looked out — and something stirred. A seed. A breath. A heartbeat. Life began. 💚 [Verse 6 – Water sound textures begin: stream trickle, soft splashes; kalimba rhythms ripple] But Life was fragile. Too much fire — it withers. Too much light — it fades. So Water came. 💙 She did not shine. She did not burn. But she held. [Bridge 2 – Echoed harp glissandos and soft choral pads; rhythm slows, ambient breathy space opens] She cooled. She softened. She cradled. She waited. Until the seed grew. [Verse 7 – Balafon and kora interlace gently; upward melodic movement like sprouting] And Life — reached upward. But not bare. Love 💜 wrapped it in green. A gift to shield and grow. [Bridge 3 – Flute and balafon in shimmering spiral motif; soft shaker swirls join; vocals layered in rich harmonies] 🌈 The Rainbow remembers ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 how the world was born. Each color — a gift. Each gift — a lesson. When they shine together, they whisper: We are not made to walk alone. [Verse 8 – Instruments fade to minimal drone and kalimba; childlike melodic tone] 🧒🏾 “Grandmother, what is black?” 🧓🏾Black is not lost. Black is where light has not yet arrived. But the Sun always rises — and when it does, the colors return. [Verse 9 – Cold air textures; deepened hums with glassy kalimba above] 🧒🏾 “And the cold?” 🧓🏾Cold is not cruel. It’s the place where warmth hasn’t come yet. Not an enemy — just waiting for fire. [Verse 10 – Bass calabash, slow rhythmic repetition; flute and drone hover in quiet tension] 🧒🏾 “And what about evil?” 🧓🏾Evil is not a monster. It is a place where Love is missing, where Light never bloomed, where Fire does not warm. It is not a curse — but a cry. A cry for greater Love. [Chorus – All elements converge gently: djembe, kora, balafon, soft saxophone or flute phrases weaving; flowing motion, circular and intimate; mood is sacred, reflective, luminous.] The world forgets. 🌍 🌈The Rainbow remembers. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 All colors belong. Love brings them near. Together we come. Together we shine. Together we become. [Outro – Instruments soften into silence; heartbeat drum slows; last note is one breath, one harmonic chime; the echo of the rainbow lingers like light on water.]
