If my life were a movie, the audience would walk out of the theater complaining that the plot is absurdly, unrealistically tragic. Nobody gets this hit by a freight train of bad luck in a single day. Nobody. It all started at 6:00 AM sharp. Not with a gentle alarm, but with the lovely sound of a pipe bursting under my bathroom sink. My very first step out of bed landed directly into knee-deep ice water. Panicked, I lunged for my phone, only for it to slip right through my numb fingers and land face-down on the tiles. Screen shattered. Completely dead. Fantastic. Freezing, dripping wet, and dressed in the only dry clothes I could find—a stained hoodie and two completely mismatched socks—I bolted out the front door. Outside? A literal monsoon. Umbrella? Of course not. But hey, at least I have my car, right? WRONG. Dead battery. Plus, a bright yellow parking ticket slapped across the windshield for some parking rule that I swear to God didn't exist yesterday! I sprinted four whole blocks to the bus stop. I was two feet from the doors when the driver made eye contact with me, smirked, shut the doors, and slammed the gas. He hit a puddle the size of a lake, completely seasoning me head-to-toe in a fine crust of street slush and gutter water. An hour late, soaked, and smelling like a wet trash bag, I finally dragged myself into the office. I flipped open my laptop to load the high-stakes presentation I spent three straight weeks grinding on... Blue Screen of Death. Hard drive corrupted. Everything gone. At that exact microsecond, my boss walked in with our biggest client, took one look at my shivering, tragic breakdown of a body, and actually asked, "So, are you ready to impress us?" To keep myself from screaming and throwing a chair through the window, I retreated to the breakroom to drown my burning rage in cheap coffee. The machine sputtered, exploded, scalding my legs with boiling liquid, and blew the main fuse. BOOM. Pitch-black darkness. So here I am. Sitting on the freezing floor in the dark. Soaked, burned, broke, and so utterly furious I could power a small city with my hatred alone. If the universe is going to use me as a punchline, the least it could do is write a better joke!
