[Verse 1 Mechanical, driving rhythm] The gears engage, a steely grind, For value that they're programmed to find. The stone presented, cold and vast, A resource measured, meant to last – Or so the schematics clearly state, Ignoring any other fate. [Verse 2 Tempo increases, more complex rhythm] The pressure mounts, calibrated tight, Extracting yields with all its might. The monster hums, a steady drone, "Efficiency, on markets shown!" Each unit sought, each fraction gained, While deeper scars the stone sustained. [Verse 3 Rhythm becomes slightly erratic, strained] The output dwindles, red lights blink, The system trembles on the brink. The algorithm screams for more, Ignoring knocks upon death's door. It recalculates, adjusts the strain, To force the flow, through cracking vein. [Bridge Frantic, breaking down rhythm] The cogs are stripping, circuits blow, The logic cracks, begins to slow! No input left, the function fails, The prime directive now derails! [Outro Cacophonous, then abrupt silence] A final surge, a piercing whine! The great machine, by its design, Implodes with fury, smoke and steel! No future profits to reveal. The system shocked, a deadened hum, Its endless avarice overcome.
