[Intro] [whispered vocals] Kyrie eleison Christe eleison Kyrie eleison [Chorus] Be merciful As your Father is merciful Be merciful As your Father is merciful [Verse 1] Blessed are the merciful You said that on the hillside Hands open, heart full Calling every hard heart to the soft side Compassion in your voice, like a gentle storm Justice in your eyes, but your arms stay warm You bend down low where the broken sit Grace over judgment, that’s the yoke that fits [Chorus] [Verse 2] Slow to anger Rich in faithful love You carry our guilt like a coat you take off and hang up As far as the sunrise from the last light’s trace You lift our shame off, send it out of this place Every morning mercy, like dew on the ground We come with empty hands, and you say “be found” Bold to the throne of grace, where the scars still shine Mercy sings louder than the law in my mind [Chorus] [Bridge] Mercy triumphs Mercy sings Over every wound Over everything New every morning New every day Love that cannot fail Teach our hearts your way [Chorus]
