I THOUGHT THE NEXT SOUND WOULD BE THE END THEN SOMETHING STRUCK IT BEFORE IT REACHED US THE TREES CAME DOWN ALL AT ONCE AND THROUGH THE DUST I SAW THE BLADE THE SLASHER. HE NEVER CAME TO HUNT US HE CAME TO KEEP THIS OUT The guardian bleeds, but still he stands Between that thing and everything behind his back Every charge hits harder than the last If he falls here tonight... nothing holds the darkness back The monster strikes and he takes the weight Steel tears through something underneath He drives it back, already badly hurt But every blow takes another piece of him He falls onto one knee Then stands again Not for us For Moria The guardian bleeds, but still he stands Between that thing and everything behind his back Every charge gets deadlier than the last If he falls here tonight... nothing holds the darkness back He was holding it back All this time... He was keeping this from getting in Because they have no border now WE CAN'T CARRY HIM BACK WE CAN'T LET THIS KEEP SPREADING The guardian bleeds, but still he stands Between that thing and everything behind his back Every charge hit harder than the last But he finally made the monster crack Driving his blade straight through its head at last "Stay alive."
