Beyond the windowpane so clear and bright, A single bird soars through the endless blue, Pretending not to care, as if in flight No earthly bounds could ever make it rue. No regulations bind its restless wings, No rules dictate which way it ought to go, Yet in this freedom, something hollow rings— No destination that the birds can know. If I possessed such feathers light and free, Could I then dance across the boundless sky? Would I soar high above like what I see? I ask the clouds that slowly drift on high: Do I possess the courage, bold and true, From this cage and learn at last to break through?
