[INTRO] Black candles flicker where the old bells ring, Questions in my head make the stained glass sing, They told me salvation comes covered in red, So I started examining every word that they said. [VERSE 1] Blood on the altar, wine in the cup, A ritual repeated till the whole room shuts up, “Body and blood,” that's the language I heard, So I started digging underneath every word. I don't need a demon hiding under my bed, I see contradictions written down instead, Paradise promised, eternal punishment sold, Fear dressed holy while the congregation folds. Don't tell me doubt is the voice of the devil, Maybe doubt is the shovel digging past the level, Maybe asking questions isn't losing your soul, Maybe blind obedience was never the goal. [HOOK] Red on the altar, smoke in the air, Ancient words echo like nobody cares, Call it redemption, call it divine, I'm still gonna question what's put in my mind. I don't fear the darkness underneath the floor, I fear never asking what I'm kneeling for, If faith needs silence every time I speak, Then maybe the truth isn't what they preach. [VERSE 2] Cross on the wall but I'm staring through it, Every sacred symbol asking me to pursue it, Not hatred for people, I'm challenging the creed, Trying to separate what I was told from what I need. The blood isn't literal, but the image stays, Thousands of years wrapped in sacramental haze, A story of sacrifice repeated in song, And I wonder how questioning it could be wrong. Hellfire sermons echo late into the night, Everybody terrified they're never living right, Guilt becomes a chain, shame becomes a throne, And suddenly the mind doesn't feel like its own. [BRIDGE] Maybe God exists, maybe God doesn't, Maybe certainty is the thing that corrupts us, Maybe the sacred shouldn't fear investigation, Maybe doubt can be part of transformation. I won't call every believer evil or damned, But I won't let doctrine put a lock on my hands, If there's something beyond what the human mind knows, I wanna find it without somebody choosing my road. [VERSE 3] So bury the fear, let the questions arise, Tear down the curtains covering everybody's eyes, I don't need a priest telling me what to see, I need room for the mystery to speak to me. Dead man's blood in the metaphorical cup, Old stories demanding that I never give up, But I'm not your enemy because I disagree, I'm just fighting for the right to think freely. Darkness ain't evil, and doubt ain't sin, Sometimes losing certainty is where truth begins, If heaven is real, it shouldn't fear a mind, And if truth is eternal, questions won't make it hide. [OUTRO] So let the church bells shake the dead of night, Let the stained glass bleed under neon light, I won't worship fear just because it's traditional, I'll question every symbol till the answers get visible. Not demons. Not saints. Not black or white— Just human beings searching through the night. If there's something holy beyond what we've known, I'll find it through questioning, Not fear alone.
