Loving the Bomb (v4 Remake)
I’m living in a world that's all ash and dust, Oh, I love the bomb, yeah, I must, I must. Skies are burning red, the ground’s cracked and dry, I tell myself it’s paradise, but that’s just a lie. The sun’s a blinding fire, the nights are cold and still, I say I love this life, but it’s a bitter pill. Oh, I love the bomb, what a beautiful sight, But deep in my heart, I know it’s not right. I dance in the fallout, with a grin on my face, But inside I’m screaming, “What a damned disgrace!” I walk through the ruins, where nothing’s alive, But I tell myself it’s freedom, where I can thrive. The air is toxic, the water’s gone bad, I keep saying I’m happy, but it’s all so sad. Oh, I love the bomb, what a glorious sight, But the truth is I’m haunted every night. I toast to the ashes, I raise my glass high, But the taste in my mouth is a bitter goodbye. This wasteland’s my kingdom, or so I pretend, But all that I loved met a fiery end. I sing to the silence, I laugh at the pain, But I’d trade it all just to see green again. Oh, I love the bomb, what a powerful sight, But my soul’s in pieces, nothing feels right. I shout to the heavens, with a voice that’s cracked, “I love this bomb!” but I wish I could take it all back. Yeah, I love the bomb, or at least that’s what I say, But every step I take, I wish it all away.
