The Storm Remembers

The Storm Remembers Verse 1 [Male 1] The ridge cuts like a blade against the bruised sky Boots sink deep, each crunch a whispered goodbye The fellowship pushes, breath sharp as broken glass Laughter dies quick when the first snowflakes pass [Switch to Female 1] A deeper chill slides under the skin The mountain knows us, it pulls us in Chorus [Male 1 with layered harmonies] The storm remembers every soul it claimed It carries their screams in the wind untamed Clawing at our heels, stealing the light Yet we move forward through the endless white The ice holds grudges older than stone But our hearts still beat, we are not alone Verse 2 [Male 1] The blizzard explodes, a wall of furious ghost White fury swallows the path we loved most The bard lifts the horn, the drone begins low Vibrations roll out, shaking the snow [Switch to Female 1 and group] We huddle together, eyes wide in the roar The curse takes its first bite, but we ask for more Chorus [Male 1 with fuller harmonies] The storm remembers every soul it claimed It carries their screams in the wind untamed Yet the drone cuts through like a shield of sound We carve one more moment on this frozen ground The sting in our lungs, the weight in our bones We answer the mountain with fire of our own Bridge [Male 1, intimate then building] I feel it watching from the ice, ancient eyes awake Every lost expedition, every final mistake The wind howls our names, the snow stings like truth But the fellowship’s bond turns fear into proof [Switch to Female 1] We are more than the tales this glacier keeps In the heart of the whiteout, our spirit leaps Final Chorus [Male 1 with full group, powerful and raw] The storm remembers, but so do we The fallen before us still walk beside me In the bass of the earth and the song we raise We fight the whiteout, we seize these days This borrowed breath, this stand in the gale We push on together, the mountain will fail
