[Verse 1] And God blessed Noah, said “Go and fill the land, Be fruitful, multiply, take dominion by your hand. The beasts and birds will fear you, The fish beneath the sea, For every moving thing shall now be food for thee.” [Pre-Chorus] “But flesh with life still in it, With blood you shall not eat, For blood is life, and life belongs to Me.” [Chorus] And I will set My bow in the clouds above, A sign between the earth and Heaven’s love. Never again shall waters rise To cover all the skies— My covenant stands in light and in the dove. [Verse 2] “Who sheds man’s blood, by man his blood is shed, For in God’s image, man was made and led.” So Noah’s sons went forth, From Shem to Japheth’s line, And Ham, the father of Canaan, walked behind. [Bridge] The sons of Noah spread through every land, From mountain’s shadow to desert’s sand. And Noah drank of the vine he grew, Fell asleep uncovered, as men sometimes do. [Verse 3] Then Ham saw his father’s shame, And told his brothers of that naked frame. But Shem and Japheth walked in grace, Turned their eyes, and covered his face. [Chorus] And I will set My bow in the clouds above, A promise sealed in mercy and in love. Never again shall wrath consume, The earth beneath the bloom— My covenant shines forever from above. [Verse 4] Then Noah spoke, his spirit stirred: “Cursed be Canaan,” he declared the word. “Blessed be Shem by the Lord Most High, And Japheth dwell in his tents nearby.” [Final Chorus] And still the bow is bending, Across the storm’s refrain, A token of God’s promise after rain. Though man may fall, and kingdoms fade, The covenant remains— God remembers mercy once again.
